The Symposium on Innovation and Research in Sustainability in the Building and the City (SiiS) is an event to disseminate the research works and innovation projects developed by students and professors in the disciplines related to the Building and the City. The event aims to promote the culture of research and encourage debate based on evidence and data. In the SiiS the academy (University), the guild of architects and engineers, the society and the authorities meet to discuss and seek points of convergence to current problems.

SiiS 2018 will deal with topics from the city scale to the scale of the building such as climate change and city, sustainable urban mobility (with focus on pedestrians and bicycles), energy efficiency (envelope design, lighting, etc.) .). In addition, new models of teaching and research, creative culture and the contribution of the public and private sector in the promotion of research and innovation will be discussed.

This activity is organized by the multidisciplinary research group SusBCity (www.susbcity.com) and the CEDISFA Research and Services Center, both of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the University of Panama. In this SiS 2018 the funds raised in the tickets to the event will be used to cover the expenses of the first scientific magazine in the area of ​​the Building and the City.
